[origin: WO2006061088A1] The invention relates to a vapor barrier for use in buildings, especially for use in façades and/or in the rehabilitation of the roofs of buildings. The aim of the invention is to provide a vapor barrier that can especially be used in the rehabilitation of roofs of buildings that are only accessible from the exterior, that is easy to lay and that obviates the formation of detrimental condensed moisture in the area above the vapor barrier and a detrimental timber moisture of the rafters. For this purpose, the vapor barrier has a water vapor diffusion resistance factor (s<SUB>d</SUB>factor), constant across the surface area, of 0.4-1.9 m (diffusion equivalent thickness of an air layer).
