[origin: DE102005032724A1] The method involves providing a broadband input speech signals, and determining signals components of the signals from an increased band of the signals. The temporal and spectral envelopes of the components are determined. The information of the envelopes is coded by a coder (1), and the coded information is provided to execute the increment of the bandwidth of the signals. The coded information is decoded and the temporal and spectral envelopes are generated from the coded information to create a bandwidth increased output speech signals. An independent claim is also included for a device for artificially increasing bandwidth of a speech signal.
