Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006064022A1] The invention generally relates to spin-electronics also called spintronics, i.e. to an electronic branch using magnetic spin properties of electrons. Said invention is mainly used for a high-capacity information magnetic storage and for measuring local magnetic fields. The aim of said invention is to substantially reduce energy required for reversing magnetic domains (1, 2) of sub-micron dimensioned ferromagnetic elements by means of a mechanism for displacing walls (3) induced by a single stream (C) of spin-polarised carriers or by a combination thereof with a magnetic field (B), wherein at least on which is variable. Said wall displacement results in a magnetic polarisation modification in a determined switching area (5).
