[origin: EP1826795A1] The device (1) has a disconnection unit (3) passing from a closed configuration, in which a varistor (2) is connected to an electrical installation, to an open configuration, in which the varistor is disconnected from the installation. A signaling unit (5) indicates the configuration, where the units (5, 3) respectively comprise mobile signaling element (12) and mobile disconnection element (4). The mobile element is co-operated with the signaling element to drive the element (12) during passage of disconnection unit from the closed configuration to open configuration. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating an electrical installation/equipment protecting device.
