[origin: WO2006067316A1] The invention relates to a multilayer material for producing heat-protective garments, in particular for fire fighters, consisting, from the outside to the inside, of: an external double-woven cloth (1) comprising an external side (2) and an internal side (3), possibly a membrane support, a breathable membrane, optionally a thermal barrier and a finishing lining. Said invention is characterised in that the external cloth weight is equal or greater than 285 g/m2 and the ratio between the weight per square-meter of the layers arranged before the membrane and the weight per square-meter of the layers arranged behind the membrane is equal or greater than 1.8.
