Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006064474A2] A game system (10) includes a memory (210) capable of maintaining a history (270) associated with a game piece (20) . The game piece (20) is used in a game having rules of play, and the game piece (20) has an associated identification code. The game system (10) also includes a processor (200) capable of updating the history (270) with a current performance level of the game piece (20) . The processor (200) is also capable of comparing the current performance level with a threshold performance level and awarding an augmented capability to the game piece (20) based on the comparison. The augmented capability could represent an accessory (120) used with the game piece (20) and/or a second game piece (20) used in conjunction with the game piece (20) .
