Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006042715A1] The invention relates to novel halogen-free flameproof thermoplastic molding compounds which allow to produce laser-marked molded articles having an increased marking quality. The molding compounds are characterized by comprising at least one thermoplastic (A) and at least one photosensitive saline compound which changes its color in the polymer matrix or which leads to a color change in the polymer matrix when exposed to laser light (B1); and/or at least one photosensitive or photosensitizing oxide which changes its color in the polymer matrix or which leads to a color change in the polymer matrix when exposed to laser light (B2); and at least one halogen-free compound or mixture that positively influences the flammability and fire behavior of the molding compound (C); and optionally other additives (D). The invention relates to molded articles that are produced from the inventive laser-marked flameproof molding compounds and to laser-marked molded articles produced therefrom. The invention also relates to a method for laser-marking and to the use of the laser-markable, flameproof molding compounds for producing laser-marked molded articles.
