Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006069960A1] The invention relates to a method and to a device for the secure operation of a switching device comprising at least two main contacts (1) which can be switched on and off and which comprises, respectively, contact pieces and a displaceable contact bridge, and at least one control magnet (2) which comprises a displaceable anchor (12). The anchor (12) acts upon the contact bridge when it is switched on and off such that the corresponding main contact (1) is opened or closed. The inventive method comprises the following steps: a) release means (S) for a force element (10) remains in a first state in order to interrupt the main contact (1) as long as the main contacts (1) are closed when switched on and open when switched off, and b) the release means (S) are transferred into a second state if at least the main contact (1) is welded after switching off.
