[origin: EP1829993A1] Teeth for fitting to the top comb or the combing cylinder are grouped as part of a solid block placed transversely to the combing direction. The teeth are in one piece with a solid back, which is shaped to form the attachment device. Preferably more than three teeth groups are placed in line in the combing direction. An independent claim is included for the method of producing the teeth by spark erosion from a solid block (10). Initially slots (12) are machined by a multiple erosion head (20). The tooth shape (52) and attachment zone (54) are then produced by profiling heads (30, 40) working simultaneously from both ends.
