Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1830329A2] A gaming machine system comprises a number of machines (13-15) that are individually actuable by a game stake value to provide an award in response to a predetermined winning symbol combination. The symbol combinations are displayed by a number of separate symbol selecting units (1-3) each having a control unit (11). The units (1-3) are connected to the machines (13-15) and each unit (1-3) may be associated with a particular machine (13-15) as a "default" unit unless it is overridden by use of a unit selection means. The unit selection means may be operable by a player or by the machines (13-15) on a random, pseudo-random or predictable basis.
