[origin: EP1832418A2] For the operation of a printing press (10), especially sheet-fed, the inking couple (13) is coupled to the direct drive (16) of the plate cylinder (12) and the ductor roller is aligned. The inking couple is disengaged leaving the ductor roller in its alignment and the plate cylinder is aligned from the direct drive. The inking couple is reconnected to the plate cylinder direct drive so that the plate cylinder runs at the correct angle and synchronized with the transfer cylinder (11) or main drive (14). The inking couple is disconnected from the direct drive and coupled to the main drive.
