Ein Rotationswärmeaustauscher (1) hat einen Rotor (2), der unterschiedliche An- bzw. Abströmsektoren (3, 4) durchläuft und mittels zumindest zweier am Wärmeaustausch teilnehmender Fluidströme durchströmbar ist, und eine Antriebseinrichtung (7), mittels der der Rotor (2) um eine Rotationsachse (6) drehbar ist. Um eine kompakte Bauweise und einen geräuscharmen Betrieb des Rotationswärmeaustauschers (1) zu gewährleisten, hat dessen Antriebseinrichtung (7) einen bürstenlosen, elektronisch kommutierten Gleichstrommotor.
