[origin: WO2006064109A1] The invention relates to a multilobed socket (5) for protecting a vehicle transmission between a drive shaft and a gearbox bell, wherein said socket (5) is embodied in the form of a cylindroconical bellows (8) extending between a multilobed large base (6) and the small base (7) of the socket (5). The inventive socket is characterised in that it provides for a novel type of architecture near the large multilobed base (6) of the socket (5), wherein said architecture makes it possible, in the area where the socket is connected to the bell, to remove any axial immobilising means from said pressure area in order to enable the socket (5) to be freely translatable in the releasing direction, a hose clamp is provided on the external face of the pressure area for producing a radial pressure which immobilises the socket (5) against the receiving bell and reduces the thickness of the pressure area in the clamp place.
