A strip (2) of filter tow material is fed along a conveyor belt. A liquid additive is applied to this strip in an application section (7) by means of an applicator (31). Contact between this strip of filter tow material and a point making contact with this strip is terminated within the application section either during or after introducing stoppage in production.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Aufbereiten eines Streifens (2) aus Filtermaterial der Tabak verarbeitenden Industrie, insbesondere Filtertowstreifen (2), der entlang einer Förderstrecke (6, 7, 8) gefördert wird, wobei in einer Auftragsstrecke (7) mittels einer Auftragseinrichtung (47, 31) ein, vorzugsweise flüssiger, Zusatzstoff (32) auf den Streifen (2) aufgebracht wird. Das Verfahren wird dadurch weitergebildet, dass bei oder nach Einleitung eines Produktionsstopps der Kontakt zwischen dem Streifen (2) und wenigstens einer den Streifen (2) kontaktierenden Stelle innerhalb der Auftragsstrecke (7) beendet wird.
