[origin: EP1834856A1] The device (2) has distinct intercommunication passages (26, 28, 30) permitting passengers to pass from one of carriages (4, 6) to the other carriage. The passage (28) extends between lower stages (18, 19) of the carriages, and the passage (30) extends between upper stages (20, 21) of the carriages. The passage (26) extends between the lower stage (18) of the carriage (4) and the upper stage (21) of the carriage (6). The passage (30) is traversely located between the other passages (26, 28).
