Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006074687A1] The invention relates to a flat mop device, comprising a mop frame (1), a cushioning pad at the underside of the mop frame (1), an easily removable mop head cover (4) covering the underside of the cushioning pad and adapted to be attached to the mop frame (1) during floor cleaning, wherein the mop head cover (4) is designed as a simple, thin, sheet-like material, in particular as a cloth of woven or non-woven fabric. This flat mop device is further improved in that the cushioning pad is formed as a removable standard flat mop cover (5) from woven or non-woven textile material with attachment means (6) on the upper side thereof for attachment to the mop frame (1), and the flat mop cover (5) is designed to have good retention properties for cleaning liquid, in particular water. Preferably, the flat mop cover (5) comprises, forming the main cleaning surface, a non-woven fabric of synthetic microfiber material with the fibers cut to a rather uniform average fiber-length of a few millimeters or less.
