[origin: WO2006074971A1] The invention relates to a drive device comprising a feed chain for a window or door, in particular a drive device for a hinge window or turn/tilt window, said drive device displacing a casement in relation to a window frame and being fixed to the window frame or casement frame. The device also comprises a drive housing (13), an electric motor (29) and a gear that is connected downstream of the latter, a driven member being associated with said gear. A feed chain (14) constitutes the driven member of the gear. The invention is characterised in that the drive housing has an elongated form with longitudinal sides (45) and two narrow sides (39) at opposing ends. The chain exit (38) of the feed chain (14) opens directly into one narrow side (39) or immediately adjoins one narrow side (39) of the drive housing (13).
