[origin: FR2879784A1] The method involves automatically determining and proposing, according to valid numerical value, an auxiliary digit associated to a set of already inputted digits for forming a proposition value with the inputted digit, while an operator inputs each of several digits. The proposition value is present to an operator by a display unit (3) while differentiating the inputted digits from proposed digit. An independent claim is also included for a device for inputting numerical values.
