[origin: EP1837084A2] The device has spray nozzles (15, 16) provided for coating workpieces and moved transverse to a conveying path, where the workpieces are transported over the conveying path. The spray nozzles are arranged at spray units (10, 11, 12, 13), where the spray nozzles are guided in a common movement plane, such that the spray nozzles pass through a closed path. The spray units with high speed are directed to another spray unit, where the movement plane lies vertical to the conveying direction.
