[origin: EP1838137A1] The method involves using an electrical temperature sensor for the measurement of the temperature of the heating element (1) or the temperature of a heated surface of heating element as well as for automatic switching-off or backspace shifting of the heating element. The trigger criterion is formed in logic depending on current operating parameters of one of the heating element or of the heater having the heating element. An independent claim is also included for the switching arrangement for controlling a heating element e.g. a heating element of electrical cooking or baking equipment.
