[origin: EP1839828A2] The machine has a machining tool (3) that is pivotably designed as a pivoting device (2), and a protection hood (1) provided for the machining tool. The protection hood is coupled with the pivoting device to enable movement of the machining tool, where the protection hood is adjusted to the diameter of the machining tool. The machining tool and the pivoting device are arranged on a slide movable in a cut direction. The protection hood is connected with the slide to move the slide, and is detached for linear and pivoting movement of the slide.
