A rigid-elastic printed sheet is supplied as a sheet metal board or a plastic sheet into a printing machine. A transfer gap (6) is provided with an image-moderate or holohedral foil coating on a printed or laminated and/or unprinted or unlaminated side over the transfer foil. The metallic and/or plastic printed sheet is dried before and/or after applying the foil coating. An independent claim is also included for a device for transferring a function layer of a transfer foil on a printed sheet.
