The unit has a retaining element (1) with a folding blade cylinder (2) and a folding jaw cylinder (3), which removes a printed product (5) over a folding flap (4) in a handover section (7) from the folding blade cylinder. The rotating retaining element (6), which is arranged in the direction of rotation of the folding blade cylinder in the handover section, presses down a printed product edge running over the folding blade cylinder in the direction of the folding blade cylinder.

Falzapparat mit einem Falzmesserzylinder 2 und einem Falzklappenzylinder 3, wobei ein Druckprodukt 5 von dem Falzmesserzylinder 2 auf den Falzklappenzylinder 3 übergeben wird. Nach Freigabe des Druckproduktes 5 durch eine Punktur 1 wird das vorlaufende Ende des Druckproduktes 5 von einer rotierenden Kurvenscheibe 6 an dem Falzmesserzylinder gehalten, so dass es nicht zu Beschädigungen des Druckprodukts 5 durch das rotationsbedingte Abheben des vorlaufenden Endes des Druckproduktes 5 vom Falzmesserzylinder 2 kommen kann.
