[origin: EP1840366A2] The injector has an injector housing (1) comprising a fuel high pressure inlet, which stays in connection with a central fuel high pressure source and a pressure chamber (10). Fuel is injected into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine when a nozzle needle (8) is opened. The needle is coupled with a piezoactuator (14) by a hydraulic coupler, which comprises coupling chambers (24, 28) loaded with high pressure. The coupling chambers stay in connection with a pressure discharging chamber, where output pressure in the coupling chambers is smaller. An independent claim is also included for a method for injecting fuel loaded with pressure into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine.
