[origin: EP1840464A1] An optical measuring device (4) for detecting chemi-luminescent radiation is assigned to each burner (A-H) that is connectable to a fuel supply (3) via a fuel valve (2). A pressure sensor detects pressure in the combustion chamber (1). A computing and control device (6) identifies the burner or burner group with highest correlation between the chemiluminescent radiation of each burner and the pressure in the combustion chamber, and controls the corresponding fuel valve to feed more fuel to the identified burner or burner group. An independent claim is also included for a method of controlling combustion operation of burners.
