Abstract (en)

Grease compositions, methods for using the grease compositions, additives for grease compositions, and equipment and vehicles containing the grease compositions for improved fretting wear performance. The grease composition includes a fully formulated grease base and an effective amount of a fretting wear reducing additive. The fretting wear reducing additive is a metal-free, oil soluble phosphorous-containing, sulfurized amine salt which is used in an amount sufficient to provide a fretting wear weight loss of less than about 20 milligrams.
