[origin: EP1842960A1] Method for cleaning the surface (16) of a moving web of paper comprises spraying it with cleaning fluid under pressure. The mixture of air, soiling and fluid produced is passed through a collector (4) where the soiling is deposited. The collector is cyclically cleaned. An independent claim is included for apparatus for carrying out the method which incorporates a spray (2) and a collector cleaning unit.
