Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1843380A1] The method involves introducing the mercury into a dosage volume in form of single drops (16) in a pre-operative step during or after the dosage of the mercury quantity and finally the total introducing quantity of mercury is transported into a filling section by maintaining the drops formed before in the discharge container (13). The discharge container is attached to a lamp holder (11) and is subjected with a gas flow through the lamp holder and further filled with a predetermined quantity of mercury through a tube. A reversal mechanism is provided, which passes a gas flow through a bypass channel (64) to the drops during the pre-operative step and blocks the bypass channel during the filling process in such a way that the gas flow is led while blocking the bypass channel by the dosage volume and carries along the drops into the discharge container. An independent claim is also included for a device for introducing an accurate dosable quantity of mercury into the discharge container of a lamp particularly into a fluorescent tube.
