[origin: WO2006082487A1] The invention relates to a device for drying shoe and cloth articles or gloves, in particular ski shoes, ice skates, mountain shoes, tennis shoes or gloves comprising at least one heating element (4, 18) introducible into a shoe and substantially upwardly inclined, a tilting pivot rest (5) of the heating element (4, 18) arranged on a support structure and connected thereto and a heat power supply which is connected to the heating element (4, 18) by means of a conduit line. Said invention is characterised in that the pivot rest (5) is pivotable on the support structure about a horizontal axis between a rest position, in which a microswitch (12) arranged on the pivot rest (5) disconnects the conduit line and an activated position, in which said microswitch (12) closes an electric circuit between the heat power source and the heating element (4, 18).
