[origin: WO2007095896A1] The invention relates to a pivot device comprising a first hinge part (1), a second hinge part (2) that can be pivoted about a pivoting axis (A) in relation to the first hinge part (1) and an inhibitor (3) that prevents the hinge parts (1, 2) from pivoting backwards and forwards. The aim of the invention is to develop a pivot device of this type to maintain a defined inhibiting action, even after prolonged use. To achieve this, the inhibitor (3) has two friction surfaces (7, 8) that slide against one another when the hinge parts (1, 2) are pivoted, said surfaces being displaced axially against one another at an increasing pivoting angle.
