[origin: WO2006050912A1] The invention relates to a method for questioning the system configuration of a native data carrier comprising a system provided with an operating system and a command set which is supplied by the operating system, said command set being supplied by the functionality of the data carrier. The system configuration is questioned using a functionality, for example, a command, from the command set of the data carrier. Information related to the system configuration is provided in response to a question. Authentification is, optionally, required for the question. The invention also relates to a corresponding data carrier provided with functionality in the command set.
