Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006084455A1] The invention relates to an electroluminescent emblem. Such emblems have long been known and are used in road traffic under conditions of poor visibility in order to be seen in time. So far, voltages in the range of 100 to 150 volt have been necessary to operate said emblems, which presents a risk hazard for the wearer of the emblem but also a risk in an explosion hazard area. The aim of the invention is therefore to provide an electroluminescent emblem that increases the safety of the wearer of safety clothing equipped therewith and that is comfortable to wear. For this purpose, the inventive emblem (1) comprises a flexible gel accumulator (4) having an operating voltage of 6 volt which can be accommodated in the safety clothing (2) in various ways and manner and operates the novel panel lights (3). Ideally, the gel accumulator(s) (4) and the electroluminescent emblem form a self-contained unit that is preferably moisture-proof and electrically insulating. The invention also relates to use of the inventive emblem in safety clothing.
