Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006084790A1] The invention relates to a device for mounting a rotatably driven elongate workpiece. Said device comprises means for embracing a bearing surface (32) of the workpiece (1) which extends coaxial to the axis of rotation. In order to protect the workpiece, the inventive device further comprises an inner housing part (16) that is rotatably mounted in an outer housing part (15) while a clamping housing part, especially in the form of a clamping disk (19), is assigned to the inner housing part (16). Said clamping disk (19) is provided with a plurality of clamping means (31, 35) which can be displaced synchronously onto the bearing surface (32) of the workpiece (1), said bearing surface (32) being placed in a central hole of the clamping housing part (19). The clamping means (31, 35) are equipped with clamping surfaces which enter into planar contact with the bearing surface (32).
