Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1847501A2] The lift installation has the lift car and counterweight connected by a belt-like traction device (12), and a guiding device (18), preferably a guide roller (19), guides the traction device along a pick-up surface (21) of a traction device monitoring device (17). The guiding device is arranged on the two ends of the monitoring device and is a component part of the monitoring device. The pick-up surface is provided with a protective coating (22) which protects it against damage. An independent claim is included for a method for testing a traction device in a lift installation.
