[origin: EP1848068A2] A locking mechanism (12) has a rectangular locking plate (13') arranged partially within a plug-receiving chamber (11a) and extended parallel with a through bore (50). The plate comprises a pair of ends. A connector connects one end of the plate with a housing (1). Another connector for connecting the other end with a telecommunication plug (34) has a locking projection carried by the locking plate for engagement with a corresponding stop surface associated with the plug, when the plug is fully inserted within the chamber.
