[origin: WO2006081956A1] The invention relates to a device (1) which is used to produce high-frequency voltage which is supplied to an electrosurgical cutting instrument with high-frequency energy, whereby the cutting part thereof is surrounded by electrically conductive fluid when in use. Said device comprises a high-frequency generator (4) which is connected to a power supply which is provided with a direct-current voltage source (6), in addition to a control (9) which is provided with a measuring and control device which is used to control the high-frequency power of the high-frequency generator (4). Said high-frequency generator (4) comprises and electric connection (2) which is used to connect active or different electrodes of the cutting instrument, preferably, to the blades thereof, and an electric connection (3) which is connected to a neutral or indifferent electrode. Said device (1) also comprises an additional energy accumulator (5) which is mounted in a parallel manner with the actual power supply of the high-frequency generator (4) and is connected to the measuring and control device and said accumulator provides transiently additional high power which forms and ionises an evaporation layer on the active electrode in the electrically conductive fluid.
