[origin: EP1850359A2] A button (22,24) includes a shape memory polymer that deforms into a memory shape when heated to a given transformation temperature. The polymer forms a dome-shaped central region protruding from the surface plane. It provides a push button function when the button is in the active state. The polymer forms a flat layer extending in the surface plane when the button is in the inactive state. An independent claim is included for a vehicle control panel configuration.
