[origin: WO2006085032A1] The invention relates to an extrusion press, comprising a die supported on a platen, a principal extrusion actuating ram supported on a fixed cross-piece, a container arranged between the platen and the fixed cross-piece, defining a housing for a metal billet for extrusion and at least two tie rods (60) maintaining the separation between the fixed cross-piece and the platen. According to the invention, the fixed cross-piece (100) is a solid monobloc piece with a central piece (102) forming the body of the ram, in which a drilling (101) is provided forming the ram chamber with extensions in the form of tabs (105 a-d), extending radially outwards from the central piece on which the ends of the tie rods are supported.
