[origin: WO2006086955A1] The invention relates to a vehicle roof comprising a roof part that can be opened in order to at least partially expose an opening in the vehicle roof, a mechanism for supporting and raising the roof part (3) in the front edge region (31) of said part and a tilting lever (40), which is hinged in the rear edge region of the roof part (3) and carries out a first displacement of said part (3) into a ventilation position, in which the rear edge (32) is tilted upwards and a subsequent displacement over the vehicle roof or a roof part that is at least fixed for periods of time. The roof part (3) that can be opened is supported at its rear edge region during the displacement from the ventilation position rearwards. To simplify the supporting mechanism, in particular for the support in the front edge region (31), said mechanism is configured by a lever (20), one end of which is hinged on a displaceable carriage (10), the other end being hinged in the vicinity of the front edge (31) of the roof part (3) and being equipped with a sliding element (23), which engages with a fixed guide (13) comprising at least one section (15) that inclines rearwards.
