[origin: WO2006086958A1] The invention relates to a vehicle roof (1) comprising a roof part (3) that can be first tilted, by means of a tilting lever (40) that is hinged in the vicinity of the rear edge (32) of said part, into a ventilation position and then subsequently displaced over the roof or a roof part (4) that is at least fixed for periods of time, in order to at least partially expose an opening (5) in the vehicle roof (1). The displaceable roof part (3) continues to be supported at its rear edge region (32) during the displacement from the ventilation position rearwards. To prevent a transfer to a separate supporting device, the rear edge region (32) of the roof part (3) is continuously supported both during the tilting displacement and during the subsequent displacement by means of a tilting lever (40), which is actuated by a displaceable control carriage (50) comprising at least one slide gate (54). During its displacement from the ventilation position, the control carriage (50) also unlocks a locking device (60), which blocks the displacement of the roof part (3) during the tilting displacement.
