[origin: DE102005009198A1] A positional-adjustable sensor (1) for a motor vehicle comprises an additional light source (3) capable of producing a reference beam (11) that is either within the sensor or at a defined fixed point from it and can be activated in order to orient and position the sensor. Preferably the reference beam is visible, the sensor radiation is not visible and the light source is an LED. An independent claim is also included for a method of adjusting the sensor as above.
