Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2882477A1] The method involves detecting the presence of a normalized carrier wave on a pair of copper, and measuring the amplitude of the detected carrier wave. The measured amplitude is compared with theoretical amplitude predefined for the wave. The attenuation of the detected wave is calculated from the comparison step. The attenuation, at particular frequency, of signals transmitted through the copper is deduced from the calculation step. An independent claim is also included for a device for evaluating attenuation of signal transmitted, at a predefined frequency, on a pair of copper.
