Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006042978A2] The invention relates to a method for optimizing a multimedia system for the distribution of high-frequency signals in a twisted-pair cable network. The system comprises a high-frequency signal distributor between a coaxial cable and the twisted-pair cable network. Said distributor comprises a cascade amplification stage structure. The invention is characterized in that the method consists of stages in the configuration of the distributor, wherein an IP3 value and a distributor output gain value are calculated iteratively from characteristics of the components of the distributor, each iteration corresponding to an amplification stage; at each iteration the IP3 values and calculated gain values are compared to predetermined set-point values; and when the set-point values are respected, the distributor is configured with a number of amplification stages that is equal to the number of iterations performed. The distributor is thus optimized in order to exhibit low calorific dissipation and to respect CEM imperatives.
