Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1852247A2] A press converts metal powder into shapes for subsequent sintering into e.g. a tool, cutting plates or similar. The press has a frame with a matrix benchtop and matrix with a hollow for the powder located between upper and lower plungers. The hollow has a transverse plunger and a sensor that measures the compression and registers this via a control mechanism with a target value, which then regulates the actual pressure.
