Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006092357A1] Disclosed is a system for testing the functionality of a sensor device (1) which is formed by means of at least one sensor element (2) and is connected to a first evaluation unit (3) in order to generate a signal indicating an impact. A second evaluation unit (4) that is connected to the sensor device (1) is provided for testing the functionality of the sensor device (1). The evaluation units (3, 4) are connected to a central control unit (5) so as to trigger a pedestrian protecting means (7) while being synchronized in such a way that the evaluation units (3, 4) trigger the sensor device (1) in a time-multiplexing mode of operation.
