Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2006045295A2] The aim of the invention is to provide methods for producing different shapes and sizes of porous granulated material, using quantities of waste for the production of porous granulated material and for the production of porous stone. The aim of the invention is also to provide solutions for porous granulated material mixtures and novel applications for using porous granulated material to solve environmental problems. According to the inventive method for producing porous granulated material in different shapes and sizes, a known mixture for producing porous concrete, consisting of silica sand, chalk, cement, water, and aluminate as the propellant, is introduced into a mould with a large surface area and a low height, is split after being set, and the ground bits are then hardened without any other auxiliary agent or in an autoclave at approximately 190 0C and at a pressure of approximately 12 bar under water vapour. The invention also relates to various uses for porous granulated material, such as for improving the water quality of lakes and ponds. The invention further relates to the production of porous granulated material and porous granulated material mixtures, and to various uses thereof especially for solving environmental problems.
