Abstract (en)
An extension screed (10) is provided for a paving vehicle screed assembly (2) that includes a main screed (3). The extension screed includes a base (12) movably connectable with the main screed. A vertical actuator (16) linearly displaces the base with respect to the main screed in opposing vertical directions. A carriage (14) includes a first carriage section (22) movably connected with the base and a second carriage section (24) movably connected to the first carriage section and configured to support a screed plate (11). Further, a first horizontal actuator (19) displaces the first carriage section with respect to the base in opposing horizontal directions and a second horizontal actuator (21) displaces the second carriage section with respect to the first section in opposing horizontal directions.
