The device has a feed channel (0) for fuel (1). Outlets (26) are provided for oxygenated gas that is directed towards the fuel. The outlets are partly pressurized with recirculated flue gas. A support device (51) is arranged below a reaction zone (20) for the entry of the fuel falling down from the reaction zone. The outlets of the support device are assigned an oxidation gas, partly consisting of recirculated flue gas.

Eine Vorrichtung zum Verbrennen und Vergasen von ballen- oder bündelförmigen sowie pastöser oder stichfester Brennstoffe, insbesondere Biomassen, besitzt wenigstens einen in eine primäre Reaktionszone (20) mündenden Vorschubkanal (0) für den Brennstoff(1) und gegenüber dem freien Ende des Vorschubkanals (0) angeordnete, gegen den Brennstoff(1) gerichtete Austrittsöffnungen (26) für sauerstoffhältiges Gas. Die Austrittsöffnungen (26) sind wenigstens teilweise mit rezirkuliertem Rauchgas beaufschlagt und unterhalb der primären Reaktionszone (20) ist eine Rückhaltevorrichtung (51) zur Aufnahme des aus der primären Reaktionszone (20) herab gefallenen Brennstoffes angeordnet. Der Rückhaltevorrichtung (51) sind Austrittsöffnungen für ein Oxidationsgas, wenigstens teilweise aus rezirkuliertem Rauchgas bestehend, zugeordnet. Dadurch kann die örtliche Verbrennungstemperatur kontrolliert werden.
