Abstract (en)
[origin: FR2882534A1] The cutting procedure uses a cutter (2) delivering a high-pressure water jet at a pressure of up to 4100 bars and with an optional abrasive charge. The charge is especially in the form of mineral particles, wholly or partly of olivine, corundum, garnet, or a combination of these. During the cutting process the water jet is moved in three dimensions, especially inside a vehicle (1), and as it is moved it is maintained at an angle to the cut material, the angle varying according to the type of material being cut, using a robot arm (4) travelling on a gantry frame (5).
