Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2006094991A1] The invention concerns a system for controlling a motor vehicle brakes, comprising standard functional units provided with a braking electronic regulator and a hydraulic unit in particularly fixed connection with the regulator, said electronic regulator including a redundant or partly redundant system of microprocessors with several central units (UC) and standard functional units having a controlling and regulating philosophy at least for an anti-skidding system. Said control system also comprises non-standard hardware and software functional units of an external safety system for protecting the passengers of a motor vehicle, said system being passive, that is it does not intervene directly in the vehicle dynamics. Said units are integrated in the field of the motor vehicle brake control system, "field" meaning that the non-standard hardware and software functional units to be integrated are placed at least in the direct vicinity of the standard braking electronic control regulator.
